Intentional Budget

I understand that concerns about money (or the lack thereof) might be what first brought you here.

Seriously, I get it — I also want more money! Nobody is above that, and I’m not here to tell you you don’t need more money.

How much more do you need though? Do you have the answer to this question? Are you making the most of what you’ve got? Are your habits aligned with your values and priorities?

I invite you to take a broader perspective — we will look at money as a resource to be intentionally deployed in order to build the life you want to live rather than something you simply want more of regardless of how much (or how little) you already have — an ever-moving goalpost and source of stress.

Again, money is an essential resource, and it is often a scarce one you might indeed need more of. Still, money is only one of the many resources you may access and deploy today in pursuit of your vision. That’s the critical insight I want to share with you.

What you will learn

1. How to identify your needs and priorities

If you’ve already reflected on this, excellent! Most people never have, and much of the “financial education” out there completely neglects this issue. Reflecting on your needs and priorities is the first step — after all, how can you know if you’ve arrived without even being aware of what you’re trying to achieve?

2. How to take an inventory of resources, skills, experiences, networks, uncertainties, . . .

As I mentioned, money is just one of many tools at your disposal. Even if you have relatively little capital, you might be surprised by the abundance of resources you can activate and employ today to take the next step toward the life you want to live.

3. How to budget and track your resources

With clear needs and goals, and an awareness of what you have available, it’s time to plan and set off. This journey continues from where you are at this very moment, meaning you can start executing your vision right away!

4. How to track your alignment with your needs and priorities

Along the way, you will need to regularly review your actions, objectives, and how aligned they are with your goals. Your needs and priorities won’t stay the same forever — they may be met, your circumstances may change, or you may realize you were mistaken about what you wanted. Transformation is an active process.

How it works

It’s deceptively simple. Everything can be done online or in person, in English or Portuguese.

  • I will send you a couple of reflection exercises and a brief questionnaire to prepare for the call;

  • We will meet to process your reflection, clarify your circumstances, and answer any questions you may have about me or my method;

  • I will follow up with a proposal for continued work and some feedback that will be useful even if you decide not to hire me.

If you have questions before scheduling the call, please write to mentoria@notmadyet.xyz.

Testimonials

“Thanks to Mika’s help with YNAB, we’ve started paying down debt while staying within budget, and bonus, we’re saving up towards financing projects in our new home instead of frittering money away. Mika is kind, straightforward, and very supportive.”

Juliet R (Michigan, USA)

Obrigada, Mika!!
